John Widdup

John Widdup has over 40 years experience in the property industry with the majority of his career spent at Westfield.

Prior to joining Westfield Group, Mr. Widdup established and ran his own property development company in South Africa, selling this business to emigrate to Australia in 1989. 

John’s 20 year career at Westfield included leading the New Zealand ( 2001 - 2006 ) and United States ( 2007- 2012 ) businesses as Managing Director and Chief Operating Officer.

John also sat on Westfield’s Global Executive Committee. John was Chief Operating Officer of Development, Design and Construction at Scentre Group, Australia’s owner and manager of Westfield, until his retirement in 2015.

John remains involved in the industry by sharing his wealth of experience in groups like Stockwell’s Investment Committee. John holds a Bachelor of Arts and Bachelor of Laws from the University of Natal.
