Creating more residential opportunities for Queenslanders
The Australian housing landscape is changing with a range of accommodation options now available. The newest entry into the housing market is Build to Rent communities. Stockwell’s first project will be situated at 399 Montague Rd, a prime location in West End offering a blend of apartments and community facilities that will have great access to local amenity and facilities from supermarkets to dining and parks to public transport.
So, What Is Build-to-Rent? Traditionally, most residential property has been delivered under the 'build-to-sell' model, where housing has been built to be sold to individual owners or investors who add their property to the rental market. The Build-to-Rent model is where there is one owner who professionally manages the entire complex for renters instead of buyers.
For Stockwell, a Build to Rent offering is an extension of our existing skills and experience having managed properties and facilities on behalf of owners and landlords for over 20 years. Already managing four residential addresses in West End with a combined total of over 500 apartments, the Stockwell team has deep knowledge of what renters are looking for both in terms of properties and facilities.
A Development Application for 399 Montague Road was lodged in June of this year with a proposal for 96 x one-, two- and three-bedroom apartments and communal roof top facilities including pool, outdoor BBQ kitchen, function space, community garden and landscaped break out areas. The building will have ground floor retail and services that will extend the overall offer from neighboring Montague Markets and other centres in the immediate precinct.
