Cottage Academy Childcare to join Bargara Central

Cottage Academy and Stockwell are delighted to announce they will deliver a brand-new childcare centre at Stockwell’s Bargara Central shopping centre.

Cottage Academy Bargara is a family-owned childcare centre providing a holistic approach to Early Learning designed to enhance all children’s social, academic, physical, and emotional development. Looking beyond tomorrow, they understand that how children are educated and cared for directly impacts the future and they address this by providing the very best environments for children to thrive.

Cottage Academy CEO Clint Devereaux said, ‘There are only two childcare centres in the local catchment catering for 740 children under 5 and 916 children including 5-year-olds.

‘The area is severely undersupplied, and we see this as an opportunity to provide local children and their families with the highest-level care and learning by designing a state-of-the-art childcare facility.

‘We are extremely excited to be invited into the local community and we can’t wait for local families to become part of our family.’

Bargara Central is owned and managed by private Queensland property company Stockwell and the addition of Cottage Academy will be another expansion undertaken at the centre since its opening in 1997.

Stockwell’s Managing Director, Mark Stockwell said ‘We have been developing this centre for 25 years in line with population growth and the Cottage Academy childcare centre will add to Bargara Central’s existing appeal and continue its focus as the hub of the Coral Coast community.

“Our job is to provide the convenient uses that the Coral Coast community needs as it grows. We see childcare and the Cottage Academy as part of the growth at Bargara Central.”

Stockwell is also currently building 1770-Agnes Water Central shopping centre due to open later this year.

Final details are being completed on the childcare Development Application being prepared for submission to Council in early 2023. Cottage Academy Bargara’s opening is anticipated for late 2024.
